If you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university, you should take ACA-122, College Transfer Success, in your first semester. ACA-122 is required for students in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Engineering, and Associate in Fine Arts programs.
ACA-122 helps students develop academic and professional goals beyond GTCC. In this course, you will create an academic plan to guide your transfer to a four-year university.
Topics covered in ACA-122 include:
- The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, which governs transfer between community colleges and public universities in North Carolina
- College policies and culture
- Career exploration
- Gathering information on senior institutions
- Strategic planning
- Critical thinking
- Communication skills
ACA-122 was designed to help you determine your career goals, identify universities with relevant programs, and plan your coursework at GTCC so you can transfer as a junior in your major.
